Debre Berhan University (DBU) is one of the thirteen public universities in Ethiopia, which was established in 2007. It is located at 130 kilometres North Easter of Addis Ababa in North Shoa Zone of Amhara Regional State. The college of Business and Economics was not independently launched with the establishment of the university. Initially, the college was named as business education that encompasses departments like, accounting, purchasing and supplies chain management, office technology and management and IT. After one year,in 2000 E.C, the college started its function independently as faculty of business and economics. During that time, the college has three main departments namely, Management, Economics and Accounting and Finance. Now the college has six undergraduate departments namely, Management, Economics, Accounting and Finance, tourism and hospitality management, logistics and supply chain management and marketing management. In addition, the college has seven postgraduate programs namely, masters of business administration, MSc in development Economics, MSc in Accounting and Finance, MA in tourism and hospitality management, MA in logistics and supply chain management and MA in marketing management. So far, the College has been contributed a paramount role for the development of the . university and the country at large. It is engaged in producing qualified and competent graduates, conducting sound researches that can potentially solve an immediate problem of the community via contributing for the existing stake of research knowledge and providing different community service activities for the surrounding society.
