On the occasion, Nigus Tadesse/PhD/,Debre Berhan University President, said that DBU has been working hard since the government of Ethiopia declared Covid 19 pandemic as a country level. He told that the university made awareness creation through print and electronic Medias widely. Since the University discharged the students, we prepared 13 blocks for quarantine and Isolation center. The University also supported Tebase Health Centre to be furnished for Covid 19 treatment and fenced budgeting over 600,000 Birr. In addition the University produced sanitizers and distributed to all Woreda Clinics and Hospitals in the surrounding areas like Abichuna Gnea and Kinbibit Woredas of Oromia Regional State. New technologies like hand touch free washing machines, ventilators maintaining and repairing, introduced and are on the right track. In general the university contributed over 5.7 million Birr to combat and eradicate covid 19 pandemic.

Ato Tadese G/Tsadik,North Shoa Zone Administrator, said that Debre Berhan University in collaboration with the Zone task force has been contributing its best  to combat the Covid 19 pandemic. He thanked the university and advised the community to follow the precaution given by physicians and concerned bodies or to stay at home and wear masks to save lives. He added that the pandemic will result in economic crisis and the people have to strive to secure food insecurity exercising urban agriculture.

Ato Desta Andargie, Debre Berhan town V/Mayor, said that the support is vital to the needy people in the town. He thanked the University for the Support and pledged to work in collaboration in the future.

Finally, hand touch free washing machines delivered to Commercial Bank Of Ethiopia Debre Berhan District,North Shoa Zone Administration and DeberBerhan Mayor Office and and 500 quintal flour to the vulnerable People’s representatives from each Kebele of Debre Berhan Town.
